As a Mobile Viking, we know you rely on your mobile to browse the internet. And sometimes that extra bit of speed would be welcome. Finally, we can tell you more about our move to 3G.

The best news is that for Mobile Vikings, 3G will be available at the same price as 2G! That’s right, you will still get 1GB of data for free with each top-up of 15€. It will not matter if you use this data bundle on a 2G or a 3G connection. Contrary to what some people suggested, there will not be a price increase.

The second announcement is that KPN Wholesale has decided to let Mobile Vikings be among their first customers to switch to 3G! Yesterday, Base users already made the switch to 3G. For other parties (like Mobile Vikings), there are more technical systems involved that still need some testing before we can switch. The current planning indicates that the switch to 3G for Mobile Vikings will be soon, depending on how the current tests evolve. But we have good hopes and are happy with our own test results so far!

We will let you know when 3G will be activated for Mobile Vikings. You will not have to do anything, since your phone will switch to 3G automatically when 3G coverage is available, if your phone is 3G enabled. It is not advised to try to force your phone to connect on 3G today, since the connection will not work.
